what is the spiritual message we need to believe?

Christianity is a spiritual religion where we as believers believe in the message written in the scriptures of the Bible. Jesus is that message. He is the word of God come to life so that we can experience who God is.

Jesus is also the light of the world that was spoken about in Isaiah 9:2 a spiritual light that gives hope and enlightens our understanding that we have a spiritual need for God and the salvation Jesus has given. “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light. On those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”

Jesus is also the star that the wise men followed to find Jesus. This means Jesus is the physical sign to follow, his life on earth is the message and the example of how to praise God with our lives. Metaphorically this star and sign that Jesus is, is the only way to find out who God is on earth and how we can know God and how to give him the worship and adoration he deserves. [Matthew 2:1-12].

What is the message that Jesus brings that we need to believe? That Jesus is God in human form, that he is God’s promise to humanity for salvation and access to a wealth of spiritual blessings. Isaiah 53:1 says, But who has believed the message of Jesus? And to whom has the strength of who the Lord is been revealed?

God reveals the message of Jesus through scripture, his word, to those who humble themselves and believe. Like wise men, people of wisdom, in this life will follow Jesus, the light of life, and God will reveal who he is to them through Jesus.

Believing in the spiritual nature of God and the spiritual sacrifice and blessings of Jesus is not easy. Isaiah 53 prophesies that only God can open the eyes, hearts and minds of the world to see and receive the gift of Jesus, the message of good news to all who believe.

In that scripture [Isaiah 53]. Isaiah expresses that, to the world at that time, just as today, there is nothing beautiful or powerful or majestic to attract anyone to belief in Jesus [Isaiah 53:2] and that there is nothing to make the world want to follow or seek after the gift of God.

Isaiah says that the message of Jesus is despised and rejected by mankind [Isaiah 53:3]. The world does not hold the message of Jesus as worth anything or having any value.

However, the spiritual wealth of the message of Jesus is valuable. The message of Jesus is that he has the power to take the burden of suffering and pain of the whole world on himself [Isaiah 53:4]. This message of release from burdens is the message that is rejected and despised by mankind. Isaiah says, that the world hides from it, turns away from it and consequently chooses to bear the burden of suffering and pain themselves [Isaiah 53:3-4].

The message of Jesus is also that he is able to bear all punishment of God, every affliction and every sin against God [Isaiah 53:5]. This ability to bear our punishments and afflictions is the spiritual message of the gift of God in Jesus and gives us access to spiritual and physical peace and healing.

The message that humanity despises and rejects is a message of God’s good news to mankind, that Jesus is able to be crushed and punished but never destroyed [Isaiah 53:9-10]. The crushing and punishment that Jesus is able to bear brings life and prosperity to all humanity. The wounds that Jesus is able to bear brings healing to all humanity [Isaiah 53:5].

God requires a righteousness that no one in humanity or mankind is able to meet. Isaiah 53:6 says, “We all like sheep have gone astray each of us has turned to our own way and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all”. Jesus, as the good news message and light for the world, is a message of hope and salvation for humanity. This message is that Jesus is the blameless righteous sacrifice needed to satisfy the righteousness God requires of mankind [Isaiah 53:6-9]. This message of hope that Jesus brings is that he has taken our unworthiness and made us worthy to meet the righteousness God requires.

The message of Jesus is also that he is able to take on himself the burdens of oppression and affliction, injustice, all judgement and all punishments of sin for all people of mankind and in return offer life, prosperity and release from oppression and affliction and punishment. A message of a means of escape. This is the hopeful, beautiful, majestic message that Isaiah says, the world despises, turns away from and rejects [Isaiah 53:7-8].

The message of Jesus is also that Jesus is able to be an offering and sacrifice for the sins of the world and that this offering of his life will not, cannot kill Jesus [Isaiah 53:10-11]. Death cannot kill Jesus. Jesus’ sacrifice, and the spiritual power of God to resurrect Jesus and bring him back to life, brings life to all who believe in Jesus. This is God’s promise and desire. God desired to crush Jesus so that upon resurrection, the prosperity of mankind would be in the hands of Jesus and available to all who believe the message that, the sin offering was for them and in return the peace and prosperity and life Jesus brings is theirs [Isaiah 53:10]. This message of peace and prosperity, salvation and hope, Isaiah says is the message that mankind hides their faces from and despises.

The message of Jesus is also that because he is the light of the world that brings life and satisfaction that he is able to bring justice to the earth [Isaiah 53:11]. There is no justice without Jesus. This message of spiritual justice, that corrects wickedness in all its forms and brings peace is spiritual wisdom. This spiritual wisdom and righteousness of true justice that brings light and peace is made available to people of wisdom on earth only by following Jesus and believing him.

The message of Jesus is also that all power that is given to Jesus, by God, the power to overcome death, bring life, bring justice, uproot oppression, satisfy, fulfill promises, release from suffering and pain, that power is available to all who believe in Jesus. This is made available to believers because of Jesus’ sacrifice for sin and because he is able to bear sins so that we the unworthy are made worthy and justified [Isaiah 53:12].

The message of Jesus is that God spoke through Isaiah that peace and salvation and prosperity would be made available and then kept his promise and fulfilled his word through Jesus. The message is that God is still speaking and keeping promises and fulfilling his word to all mankind through the great gift of Jesus.

This is the message in Isaiah 53 that is despised and rejected by mankind. The message humanity hides its face from.
